Breast Cancer Awareness: What You May Not Know 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and while we often see pink ribbons and hear inspiring stories of survivors, there's still so much about this disease that many people don't know. Did you know breast cancer can develop at almost any age? Although it's more common in older adults, breast cancer has been diagnosed in teenagers and, in extremely rare cases, even children. There is no established minimum age. And gentlemen, this includes you, too! While it's much less common in men, it does happen. Breast cancer awareness isn't just for women.

Just because no one in your family has had it doesn't mean you're automatically in the clear.

Breast cancer doesn't always show up as a lump. Changes in breast shape, skin dimpling, nipple discharge, or unusual swelling can also be warning signs. If something doesn't seem right, don't ignore it. Early detection can save lives. Pay attention to your body, know your family history when possible, and talk with your healthcare provider about when screenings are right for you.

This October, let's do more than wear pink. Let's have conversations, share knowledge, support those undergoing treatment, celebrate survivors, and remember those we've lost. Because awareness isn't just about a ribbon. It's about people, families, and lives worth protecting. 💗
